Vinyl Plank Flooring– Key Points to Remember
It is still a relatively unknown material but what makes vinyl plank flooring so popular? Well, there are a few key factors that one must consider when talking about this. Besides the fact that it is very inexpensive when compared to real wood, it is also easy to install thus making it a good alternative using actual hardwood floors in your home. Let’s face it, hardwood isn’t exactly the most affordable type of floor but it does lend a certain air of elegance to a space thus making it very popular. So what if you want the same look but without jeopardizing your budget? Vinyl is the solution. Some versions of it can be so well-made that they begin to appear just like real wood to the untrained eye. It all depends on the quality of the workmanship involved. Do note that the more realistic it looks, the higher the price would be.
This type of flooring is manufactured so that it comes in sizes which are also common to real wood flooring. You’d be glad to know that since these are machine cut, they seamlessly fit into each other once installed. You can easily make changes to it as well in order to fit your needs more and the space where you’re using them in. Durability is also another reason as to why people like using vinyl alternatives. Even if you spill your drinks on it, it’ll still look fine after. But what differentiates a plank from vinyl tiles and sheets? Well, planks lend a different appeal and feel to the space wherein it’s used. They are made to mimic the appearance of real wood and also comes in a variety of grains, finishes and colors. The most common variety would be softwood and hardwood planks. As for durability, it often comes with a satin urethane coating which helps in protecting it from scuffs and dirt. The gloss levels vary as well from high, medium and low. So you’re sure to find one that suits your needs.
Wood laminate flooring is popular mostly because of it’s durability. One should note that it is waterproof and as such, it’ll take a while before it begins to wear down. In fact, if you add other layers to it such as a stain resistant carpet, you can help extend the life of your laminate flooring effectively. So do consider adding that as well.
Are you looking for a carpetthat would suit your home’s flooringbest? If this is the case then much care should go into choosing one that best fits your needs. After all, if you’re going to spend quite a bit of money on it then it should suit your preferences accordingly. Now, there are many different types of carpets. Berber carpeting, plush carpeting and frieze carpetingare just some of the most common. In terms of design, style, color and even texture, your options are quite endless. However, it isn’t just the color and design that you should be paying attention to. To help you understand it better, below is a quick rundown of the different carpetmakes that you would normally find when you’re out shopping.
Woven Carpet– This would produced on the handloom which lends it the appearance of woven cloth. There are many different styles of woven carpeting which includes both Berber and plush. These are also, typically, made out of colorful yarns with creative designs and patterns which can go from vintage to something more contemporary.
Knotted – These are well-known to be beautifully crafted and uses an alternate mechanism when it comes to binding the threads used to make the carpetitself. A few examples of these would include Kashmir Carpets which are popular for their luxurious appearance as well as the unique designs often imprinted on it. If you’re planning on using the carpetin a pretty big space such as a living room or ballroom with hardwood flooring then this would be a good option to look into. They also come in a variety of designs so you needn’t worry about not finding one that fits your taste and current décor.
Tufted – This would be the most commonly used method when it comes to the production of carpets for residential spaces. They look best when used in the center of drawing rooms or as an accent and placed under a center table. Much like the aforementioned carpetvarieties, this too would provide you with numerous options to choose from so you should be able to easily find one that fits your style and preference as well as your budget.
Lastly, when choosing a carpetfor your home, don’t forget to ask about the difficulty of cleaning it. If you haven’t got enough time on your hands to clean it yourself, always go for something that’s low maintenance such as stain resistant carpets.
